- I recently purchased a Zoom ComStar 28.8 (model 620)..
-
- I realize that this modem is priced inexpensively for a reason, but
- I like the fact that it has all the features I wanted in one package.
-
- Here's the prob...The INF file for this thing is totally bass ackward!
- It was written in what appears to be one evening!(I won't mention the
- name of the guy who wrote it, BUT he doesn't seem to be ashamed
- seeing as how he put his name in the comments section of the file.)
-
- I have tweaked the mdmdsi.INF file for the CreativeLabs Phone Blaster Voice
- to work for me 100 times better than the Zoom.INF. (The mdmdsi.INF supports
- Rockwell chipsets, VoiceVue, etc...)[ To get the MDMDSI.INF you will have to
- have Unimodem V from Microsoft]
-
- I'd like to know if anyone else out there has tweaked/played with the Zoom.INF,
- or any.INF to work for their ComStar 28.8 ???
-
- I think that some of us compared notes we could email Zoom with a NEW .INF
- at least show them how sh*tty their current one is.. Any takers?
